Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is a misnomer; ‘a wrong or inaccurate use of a name or term’.

You don’t have dental 'insurance'. You have health insurance, car insurance and homeowners insurance. But with dental insurance, there is no deductible that needs to be met before your plan will start covering the remaining costs you may incur. Dental insurances are just discount plans.

Many dental insurances may offer higher reimbursements towards procedures that may or may not be the best choice for you (such as a filling, but your tooth at this stage really needs a crown). This may end up influencing your decision because it may be ‘covered’ but is not ideal . Insurance coverage will cap out after approximately $1500 (this number has remained the same since the early 1970’s and is the equivalent to $14,000 dental dollars today!). They are in the business of making money, we are in the business of doing what is best for you. Your insurance company did not look in your mouth, we did, and we will always educate and follow through on what is best suited for your needs. The final choice of treatment and how to proceed is ultimately yours.

In-House Dental Savings Plan

Consider an in house membership plan with a dentist you trust. This will often cost you the same as what your employer is charging for, and, what is most likely the cheapest plan that they can purchase for their employees to say "we offer dental as well". This allows us to take better control in guiding you down what is going to be your best path, and not be dictated by what insurance may or may not cover.

With an in house plan, there are no waiting periods to start treatment, no maximum cap, and no dealing with frustrating insurance companies.

CareCredit Financing

Many times, patients who are preparing to undergo complex or multiple dental treatments need help paying the full amount. This is where CareCredit comes in. By applying for a low-to-no-interest payment plan, patients can make monthly payments toward the cost of their care instead of being responsible for all costs upfront.
